Design challenge

Ux design for significant overall of existing flagship Google Cloud Big Data Analytics tool (BigQuery), partnering with multi-disciplined stakeholders (Product Management, Engineering, Research) on product design definition and implementation activities with a user centered focus on key personas. Lead cross team and product innovation workshops, collaborate with cloud product design teams and leadership in developing future facing product design concepts to inform future product roadmap as well as overall product experience design direction and take ownership in building a culture of inclusion and empathy for a high performing global Ux team.

Approach:

Performed full product heuristic evaluation (including a11y) for existing and planned feature use cases, identified focus areas for improvement based on measurable experience criteria, metrics. Conducted UI component audit, identified design system gaps, worked with design system team (Ux and Engineering) on new components, pattern improvements to support product requirements. Key collaborator and UX lead on multiple design sprints for critical user journeys of data analytics personas. Produced low and high fidelity Ux designs, prototypes to guide product definition, experience validation (rapid research, customer evaluation) and implementation activities. Leveraged voice of the customer feedback to monitor, identify and prioritize product experience improvements. Led team culture initiative for rapidly growing global Ux team with goal of identifying and operationalizing team values and principles. Managed Ux team project planning + execution for 4 person UX team, reporting status and progress to senior leadership.
